There's a 7 day grace period where you can look for older versions of the folder where the file was. After that, the file is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
A new version of each folder is saved every 2 h.
Recovering Deleted Files
Let's suppose I accidentally deleted the CMD file from the folder Branch\TWC\TTR - AUSTRAC\
1- Go one level above in the folders. In this case, Branch\TWC\
2- Right-click the folder where the file was in --> i.e. TTR - AUSTRAC
3- Click on Properties
4- Click on the tab Previous Versions
Each of those versions is available to be opened. If you double-click any of them, that specific version of the folder will open in a new window.
5- Find your file and COPY it (please do not CUT!)
6- Close the new window that was opened
7- Go to the "live" (current) folder and PASTE it there
Your file has been recovered.
